Leslie Cheung Kwok-Wing (張國榮 in traditional Chinese characters and 张国荣 in simplified characters) was a famous and beloved Cantonese pop (Canto-pop) singer, songwriter, and performer and Hong Kong film actor. Over his 26-year career in music and movies, he became so popular that the press and his fans nicknamed him "elder brother" (哥哥 – pronounced "Gor Gor" in Cantonese and "Ge Ge" in Mandarin), a term of respect and endearment.

However, despite his incontrovertible, long-standing record of success, critics' ongoing recognition of his talents, and the public's steadfast appreciation, Leslie succumbed to doubt and depression. In the early evening of April 1, 2003, he took his life.

This site is dedicated to helping to preserve Leslie's memory and artistic legacy. The world is less beautiful without him.
